Mark Smith - Chief Executive Officer/Manager
Mark Smith is our CEO. Mr. Smith is primarily
responsible for our financial and membership management,
fund raising and financing activities, corporate and legal
affairs, and negotiating licensing agreements. Mr. Smith
has over 25 years of combined experience in managing companies
from start up through going public, raising capital in the
public and private equity markets, and as a public company
executive. Mr. Smith's experience includes designing tactical strategies for both
private and publicly traded companies seeking market expansion
and financing alternatives. He combines a unique knowledge
of financial markets, business and securities law, and general
business practices.
Previously he
was the Chief Financial Officer of Moving Bytes a publicly
traded telecom and electronic media company acquired by
a Chinese Software concern in 2005. In the first half of
1990's Mr. Smith worked extensively with Deloitte Touche
in central Europe primarily negotiating investment contracts
for public companies. By the mid-1990's he was focused exclusively
on cross border financing and merger transactions, obtaining
U.S. listings for Foreign Private Issuers and closing multi-jurisdictional
securities related transactions in Hong Kong, southeast
Asia, western and central Europe, the U.S. and Canada.
From 1990 to 1992, he was Professor of Corporate
Finance at California State University. Mr. Smith performed
research for the Pension Research Institute in 1989 and
1990 and received his Masters degree in International Finance
in 1990. For his research work in global asset management,
he received a Wall Street Journal Award. Mr. Smith is a
member of the Chartered Financial Analysts Society.
Shaun Edwardes - Chief Marketing Officer/Manager
Shaun Edwardes is our CMO. Mr. Edwardes is
primarily responsible for identifying potential Strategic
Partners, and initiating and negotiating licensing agreements.
Mr. Edwardes has 18+ years experience as an executive in
the entertainment and technology businesses. Born and educated
in England, Mr. Edwardes move into technology began when
he worked with Broadcast.com, now owned by Yahoo. As a partner
of 'The Gated Group', a Los Angeles business consultancy,
he managed the incubation of several successful software
development companies including VoxSurf Software International
Ltd., a pioneering company in open email solutions with
licensed integration into Motorola's Mobile Internet Exchange.
David Mooney - Founder/Manager
David Mooney is our Founder. Mr. Mooney is primarily
responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of patent
applications, patent maintenance and enforcement, and clinical
testing.
Mr. Mooney is the inventor of the Technology.
Mr. Mooney is a BLS, ALS and AED certified medical technician
who has worked for over half a decade in heart and vessel
tissue harvesting. As a result of his work he identified
a need for a low cost technology which could be applied
to existing catheter products in order reduce dislodging.
Mr. Mooney designed the Technology, raised the Company's
initial capital and undertook the Company's clinical testing and patent
application processes.
Board of Advisors
Dr. Richard Ranne – LLC Member
Dr. Ranne, M.D., is a renown pediatric, cardiothoracic and general surgeon and an initial member of MedicInvent. He practices in Tulsa Oklahoma where he is Chairman of the General Surgery Department at St. Francis Hospital. He has received broad press coverage on his work performed in conjunction with LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma, Inc., a private not-for-profit organization certified and designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as the organization dedicated to recovering organs for transplantation in the state of Oklahoma, and on the donation of his surgical services to the needy around the globe.
Dr. Ranne served his residency for pediatric surgery at the Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, his residency for cardiothoracic surgery at the St. Luke’s Hospital Mid America Heart Institute, Kansas City, and his Fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery at Boston’s Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical.
He has been a clinical professor of both surgery and pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine since 1990, has been published in numerous professional journals and has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards.
Dr. Daniel Danner – LLC Member
Dr. Danner, D.V.M., is a member and president
of the Oklahoma State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
and a 27 year practioner of veterinary medicine. He is the
owner of the Animal Medical Surgical Hospital located in
Tulsa Oklahoma, a facility which has been certified by the
American Animal Hospital Association and which has been
recognized as a runner-up for its national ‘Hospital
of the Year’. The practice is well known for performing
orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.
His vast experience ranges from traditional
equine, domestic and small animals to exotic species, such
as zoo animals, wildlife and avian groups. He regularly
consults on the health care of over 200 primates in a five
state area and is the current veterinarian for exotic animal
parks throughout Oklahoma. He is one of three veterinarians
on the board of the National Simian Society .
Dr. Danner was instrumental in the design
and oversight of testing of the Technology conducted by
the Company in conjunction with Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Mark Setser – LLC Member
Dr. Setser, D.V.M., M.S., owns and operates exotic and companion pet veterinary practices in Tulsa and Broken Arrow Oklahoma. Dr Setser is published in the Journal of Veterinary Research and other publications. He has been a guest lecturer at the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine since 1983. Dr. Setser has been a veterinary practice consultant for Fort Dodge Animal Health and for Schering Veterinary. He is a member of the Sterling Management Million Dollar Practice Roundtable and serves as consulting veterinarian for locally owned and national franchise pet retail businesses as well as exotic and wildlife parks in northeastern Oklahoma. He is also the Kid TV Vet for the Kid TV and Teen TV television shows.
